I'm trying to decide between pursuing a degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering as I want to be a game programmer, which has been my dream job ever since I started gaming. I'd like to know which degree would better prepare me for this field, particularly in regards to learning commonly used scripting languages.

It seems like you're equating learning a scripting language with becoming a game programmer, and that's not exactly how it works. Game development is a complex field, and just because you love gaming doesn't mean you'll automatically enjoy or be good at game programming. You might face some unexpected challenges.

I didn't mean to suggest that! I really want to know which degree is best for me and what scripting languages I should focus on learning. I appreciate your insights!
