Choosing Between Micro-ATX and ATX Motherboards: What’s the Best Option?

I'm in the process of buying a new PC, and I've noticed that micro ATX motherboards are significantly cheaper than ATX ones, yet they seem quite similar in features. I'm curious to know if opting for a micro ATX motherboard is a good choice for my setup. I'll only be using one GPU and one PCI SSD port, so I'm wondering if the micro ATX will suffice or if I should invest in the ATX instead.

Micro-ATX boards aren't necessarily better or worse; they're just a different size. If you pick a micro-ATX from the same brand, with similar specs and cooling features, you can expect about the same performance. The main difference is that ATX boards typically offer more ports for expansion. So, if you only need one GPU and one SSD, a micro-ATX could work perfectly!

Just a tip—make sure not to put a micro-ATX board in an ATX-sized case! It's a pet peeve of mine. Always match the motherboard to the right case to avoid compatibility issues.
