Choosing Parts for a New Gaming PC

I'm looking to upgrade my son's gaming PC since we built it back in 2020 primarily for Fortnite. Now he's playing more demanding games like Elden Ring, Dark Souls, and Ghost of Tsushima, so we need to step up our game. He's picked out a few components already: an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU and a B650E motherboard. I'm hoping to get some recommendations for a compatible GPU, the right RAM and storage options, and what cooling solutions work better than the traditional fans we used before. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

To pair with the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, you should look at cards like the 9070, 9070XT, or the 5070ti. They're all good choices with 16GB of VRAM, which is perfect for the games your son wants to play. For RAM, grab DDR5, ideally 6000 MHz with CL30 latency. It’s pricey right now, but it’s worth it. Regarding storage, skip the HDDs unless you need massive space; go for an M.2 NVME SSD instead, much faster and more reliable! As for cooling, while fans are still the norm, you might want to look into all-in-one liquid coolers for better performance and quieter operation than standard air cooling.

Just a heads up, if you go for a 5070, make sure it’s a model that doesn’t have the flawed 12v power connector issue—those have been catching fire!
