I'm building a new PC with the Intel 265K as my CPU, primarily for music production. I also plan to stream while working, so minimizing noise is crucial while ensuring decent cooling performance. I've selected an Asus Prime RTX 5070 for the GPU, but my focus right now is on the CPU cooler. I'm considering the be quiet! Pure Base 500DX case and am deciding between two coolers: the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 (likely the SE version) and the Noctua NH-D15. I've heard AIOs can be noisier due to pump sounds, which makes me lean towards these options. My main questions are: does the NH-D15 really run quieter in practice, and is there a risk of the 265K bottlenecking future GPU upgrades? Specifically, what's the highest-tier GPU I could pair with this CPU at 1440p gaming without running into bottlenecks?

The Noctua NH-D15 tends to outperform the Peerless Assassin by about 10-13% at around 21°C, but that difference may not be noticeable unless you're pushing your CPU hard. So, if you're looking for the quietest option, the NH-D15 could be the way to go.
If silence is your priority, I recommend considering the Define 7 case, especially the closed version, as it offers excellent sound dampening. It can make a bigger impact on noise levels than just the cooler itself. I'd suggest the Phantom Spirit 120 instead of the Peerless Assassin, and while the NH-D15 is solid, remember that the case can really help keep things quiet. I've used this setup with a 9950X, and it’s nearly silent under normal loads. As for GPU pairing, it should handle a 5080 without issues, and even a 5090 at 4K should work fine, though the case isn’t perfect for full GPU loads but still manageable.

Does the Define 7 have dust filters? And what do you mean by 'less ideal for full GPU load'? Thanks for the detailed insight!
