Choosing the Right CPU and GPU Combo for 1080p Gaming

I'm looking to build a budget gaming PC for my nephew who mainly plays AAA titles. I have two CPU and GPU combinations at similar prices: first, the Ryzen 7600x with a basic 5060; second, for an extra $50, the Ryzen 7500F with a 5060ti featuring 16GB of VRAM. I'm leaning towards the second option since it offers a better GPU. However, the current monitor is 1080p, and I'm uncertain about upgrading down the road or replacing parts. I'm seeing that the basic 5060 should handle AAA games on medium settings just fine, but I'm curious if the 16GB version is worth the extra cash for future-proofing, or if both will quickly become outdated. Considering all this, I feel like I'm deciding between a CPU or GPU bottleneck, and I'd prefer to go with a CPU one. Also, I'm limited to these two GPU choices due to budget and availability—suggestions for different cards won't help me. Thanks!

If you're sticking to 1080p for now, either combo would work fine, but I'd still recommend the 7500F with the 5060ti 16GB. More VRAM means you’ll be set for settings adjustments down the line—potentially gaming at higher settings without compromises as new games come out.

That makes a lot of sense, thanks for the breakdown.

Honestly, at 1080p, you might be more CPU-bound anyway, but future-proofing is key. The 16GB in the GPU gives you a bit more flexibility for upcoming games. I'd say avoid an 8GB card if you're planning to keep this build for several years. Go with the 7500F and the ti.

Those are my two choices, so this helps a lot thanks!

I'd recommend going for the 7500F with the 5060ti. While the 7600x is a solid CPU, the better GPU can really make a difference in gaming performance, especially with modern titles that benefit from more VRAM. An 8GB GPU doesn’t really cut it anymore if you want decent performance over time.

Thanks for confirming my thoughts! That’s what I expected.
