Choosing the Right CPU for My New GPU Upgrade

I'm looking to upgrade my PC for playing Battlefield 6 and I'm considering either an RX 9070 XT or an RTX 5070 Ti. However, I'm stuck on which CPU to pair it with: should I go for the 9600x, 9700x, or opt for a 7800x3d or 9800x3d? My goal is to achieve high frame rates—165+ FPS if that's realistic. I'm concerned that pairing the higher-end CPUs like the 7800x3d or 9800x3d might be overkill, especially if it's not worth spending significantly more just for a slight performance boost. Also, I play at 1440p with a 165Hz monitor. Currently, I'm using an i7-9700K with an RTX 2070 Super.

From what I gather, the X3D chips are definitely better for gaming, while the others might perform better in non-gaming tasks. If you're looking for longevity, the newer chips like the 7800x3d or 9800x3d will serve you well for a couple of years. However, if you're mostly gaming, you might want to focus your spending on the GPU instead, especially at 1440p—it's where you'll see the most gain!

I hear you on the X3D chips! I'm just nervous that the 7800x3d might feel outdated soon since the 9800x3d is available. But the price difference is pretty significant—about $150! Should I just go for the 9800x3d then?
