Hey everyone! I just got an Acer GX-781 from a family member, but it didn't come with a hard drive. I'm completely lost on what type I should get. Do I need a specific type of hard drive, or can I just choose any that has certain specifications? I realize the PC is a bit older, so I'm not expecting it to run high-demand games like Genshin Impact, but I'd love to play something like The Sims. Sorry if this is a basic question—I'm a total noob! By the way, English isn't my first language, so I apologize if I'm not using the right terms. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

I recommend going for an SSD instead of a traditional hard drive. Most PCs from the last 20 years are compatible with 2.5" SATA SSDs. However, you might want to look up if it can handle M.2 NVMe SSDs that are more common these days.
Thanks for the tips, everyone! Would this Kingston NV3 PCIe 4.0 NVMe 1TB M.2 SSD work okay for my setup? It looks similar to the old one.
You should be fine with any SATA drive. A 2.5" SATA SSD would work too, although they’re a bit rare these days. Those drives should give you decent performance for light gaming.
That one won't fit, unfortunately. You need a SATA M.2 SSD. They have the same shape as NVMe drives, but the interfaces are different. A 2.5" SSD would work too. Check out this list of compatible options.
