I'm considering two UPS systems: the APC SRT1500RMXLA-NC at $2400 and the Eaton SU1500RTXLCDN at $1500. Both offer 1500VA/1350W double-conversion online pure sine wave functionality and come with a network card. I've always used APC, but I've noticed a significant price jump recently, which has me questioning whether to switch to Eaton. I typically buy two UPS units for each installation since my servers and switches have dual power supplies. Given that this is for a 24/7 operation with 15 different locations, are there any substantial reasons for sticking with APC? Also, with my setup, is it overkill to use double-conversion units, or should I consider opting for a more basic model?

Just a heads up: be ready to change the APC batteries shortly after the warranty period ends. Their quality isn't what it used to be, especially with the latest models.
Eaton has served me well for over 15 years! The software isn't perfect, but their recent upgrades to the network card interface are pretty respectable.
I've had great experiences with Eaton too. We switched from APC about two years ago and honestly no complaints whatsoever.
I've got a bunch of Eaton 1500RTX and 2500RTX models in use, and they really do work well for me. No issues over here!
I wouldn't touch APC again! I've seen way too many of their units die on the job. At my former workplace, we replaced APCs frequently in just a couple of years. Switching to Eaton has transformed our reliability. I'd recommend Eaton without hesitation.
Man, I nearly bought the lithium models from APC for a huge project but I am so glad I didn’t! Lead batteries are definitely the way to go.
APC's recent management card now requires a subscription for updates, which is an added cost to your overall expenses. Just make sure you're comparing the same specs when deciding, and I'd go with Eaton before they decide to hike their prices too.
I've used both APC and Eaton personally, and my experience has leaned towards Eaton for reliability. The recently introduced management interface from Eaton is a lot better than what they used to have. I'd suggest going with Eaton, especially since you've noticed APC's prices going up.
Yeah, all I really need from a UPS are email alerts for power issues, which Eaton provides just fine. After setup, I barely even use the GUI.
It sounds like they've made strides in improving things. I'd choose Eaton too over APC for my next purchase.

Awesome, thanks for the feedback!
