I just got my hands on an AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT Steel Legend 16GB OC, and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed as I'm new to this. Before ordering, I checked with a couple of friends to ensure it would be compatible, and they gave me the green light. However, when I went to install it, I found out that the new GPU has an 8-pin power connector, while my old one used a 12+4 pin connector.
I've tried looking online and asking my friends, but I can't find any clear answers. I'm wondering if I can use my old power connector with this new GPU, or if I need to get an adapter or a completely new power connector. If a new one is necessary, which specific model should I be looking for? I came across this one: https://www.komplett.no/product/1319137/datautstyr/pc-komponenter/stroemforsyning/tilbehoer/cooler-master-12vhpwr-type-2-kabel?queryid=4aef7f3a2be7126954b214721dce7f58&sort=None, but it doesn't seem compatible. Any advice would be really helpful!
Also, just to clarify, my old GPU actually connected using two 6+2 connectors, not a 12+4 as I initially mentioned.

First off, can you tell me what power supply (PSU) you're using? Typically, a good PSU should have at least one PCIe cable with the 6+2 connector. Also, I'm a bit curious—what GPU did you have that used a 12+4 connector? That might be a bit unusual!
What PSU do you have? Honestly, it sounds strange that your PSU has a 12VHPWR connector but no standard 8-pin PCIe cable. You might need to look into getting a proper cable that fits your new GPU. I'd advise checking the specifications on your PSU!
I'm not entirely sure about the specs; the cable situation has me confused. I’ll check it out and report back!

Not completely sure, but my friends said it should work. I should double-check that now. Yes, I've got it wrong; my prior GPU used two 6+2 connectors. Will that be okay, and do I need to unplug one of those?
