I'm fairly new to building PCs, and I'm helping someone revive an old setup with an M2N68-AM SE2 motherboard paired with an Athlon II processor. I came across some information in the manual regarding RAM that seems a bit confusing. It states that:
- You can install a maximum of 3GB of system memory if you're using a 32-bit Windows OS.
- For 64-bit Windows, you can install 4GB or more.
However, it also mentions that this motherboard supports up to 4GB memory modules, but only allows a maximum of 2GB DIMMs on each slot. This makes it feel contradictory to me. Can anyone clarify the actual RAM limits for this motherboard? Thanks!

Hey! So, the max RAM you can actually use with that motherboard is 4GB total, which means you can have 2x2GB sticks. The confusion often comes from the manual - it sounds like they’re saying you can use a mix of 32-bit and 64-bit systems, but practically, you’ll hit that 4GB limit no matter what. Just make sure you're using the right 64-bit OS if you want to max it out!

Thanks for clearing that up! I was getting lost in the manual's wording. Looks like I need to stick with 2GB sticks for it to work.
