Hey everyone! I recently bought an ROG STRIX B850-F GAMING WIFI motherboard and a 9800x3d CPU. I'm using a Corsair iCUE H150i Elite Capellix AIO cooler for cooling. The issue is that my AIO has a 3-pin connector, but my motherboard features 4-pin headers. After plugging it into the pump header, I received an error stating that it couldn't detect a CPU fan, so I chose to ignore it. Should I leave it as is, or is it better to connect my pump to the CPU fan header or the CPU opt header instead? Any advice would be appreciated!

Connecting a 3-pin fan to a 4-pin header is perfectly fine! It's designed to work that way. However, Corsair's manual recommends using the CPU fan header for the pump instead of just the chassis fan header. This way, the motherboard can manage pump speeds effectively based on CPU temperatures.
You should definitely connect the AIO fans to the CPU fan header or the CPU opt header. This will make sure that your motherboard gets the right readings for fan speeds and won't cause any issues. Linking them through a hub is fine, just make sure everything is connected properly!
Yeah, I heard that those hub connections can get tricky sometimes! As long as you've got the USB and SATA cables plugged in, you should be good to go.
That makes sense! Thanks for clarifying the manual details. I always prefer to play it safe and follow the manufacturer’s guidelines.
