I've been having a rough time with Windows lately. My laptop reset unexpectedly, and to my surprise, all my data was wiped from the HDD. Now I'm seriously thinking about switching to Linux. Can anyone recommend a good Linux distribution that's great for gaming and internet browsing?

Honestly, just flip a coin! Heads for Fedora, tails for Ubuntu. Both are solid choices for gaming and browsing. Don’t let too many opinions overwhelm you, just pick one and try it out! You can always switch later.
I switched to Mint last month and it’s been a breeze! Everything works so well that I can’t see myself going back to Windows. I wish I had made the jump sooner!
You should be cautious though. I switched to Linux on my laptop, which worked fine. But I ran into issues with my main computer because my wifi and Bluetooth drivers weren’t available for Linux, which was a hassle. Just make sure your hardware is compatible! I’d recommend Linux Mint for a beginner—very user-friendly.
You might want to check out Ubuntu or Mint. They both have great support! Just make sure you understand what a Desktop Environment is and choose one you like. And remember to back up any important data before switching. Good luck!
You should definitely make the switch! I just went with Fedora KDE Plasma last week, and it's been amazing for gaming. Really smooth experience overall!
Just pick any distro that catches your eye! Personally, I favor Ubuntu LTS for its support and reliability. It's easy to navigate and a solid choice for many.
Definitely consider switching, but it might be tricky for advanced tasks like video editing. I still keep a dual boot system because DaVinci Resolve and certain video formats can be a hassle on Linux. If you're just browsing and gaming casually though, you'll be fine!
I actually run DaVinci Resolve on Linux and it works well if you have a good graphics card. No issues for low-end gaming or browsing, so you should be good!
I just need low-end gaming and internet stuff too; it sounds like Linux would work for me!

Another vote for Fedora KDE Plasma! It’s super user-friendly. If you’re a total beginner, consider Ultramarine Linux, which is just Fedora but comes with all the proprietary codecs and drivers like NVIDIA already set up for you.
