I'm thinking about switching from Windows because Windows 11 just isn't cutting it for me. I've been trying out Linux Mint on my older Mac mini, and it's amazing how much better it runs. I'd like to move my main setup over to Linux Mint as well. My main computer has solid specs: a B850 MSI Pro, 32GB DDR5 RAM, a Ryzen 7800X3D CPU, a 240mm AIO cooler, and a RTX 2070 Super GPU. I mainly use it for gaming, CAD/CAM work with Fusion 360, and 3D printing. Do you think most of this software will work well on Linux Mint, or is there a better distro that allows me to run Windows applications seamlessly?

You might want to try booting Linux Mint from a USB drive first to see how it performs without installing it permanently. It's a good way to test things out!

I haven’t booted from USB before. If I do that, will I still be able to access Steam games installed on my Windows 11 partition?
