I'm thinking about making the switch to Linux, but I have a few questions in mind that I'd love to get your insights on. Here they are:
1. What are the advantages of choosing Linux over Windows?
2. Which Linux distribution is best for gaming?
3. Can I play all my Steam and Epic games on Linux?
4. Is it possible to play pirated games (like Minecraft) on Linux?
5. If I copy my games to another disk and then format my main drive with Linux, will I be able to play them?
6. Will I see a performance boost with my low-end laptop specs (i3-N305, UHD Graphics, 8GB RAM)?
7. Can I run .exe programs in Linux?
Thanks in advance for your help!

There are a few reasons people prefer Linux. For some, it's about ownership and control over their system. Linux distributions like Fedora or Mint are great for gaming—just check compatibility on sites like ProtonDB. As for playing Steam and Epic games, many work on Linux, but titles with anti-cheat systems can be tricky. Also, while you can use Wine for some .exe files, not all will run smoothly. Performance can vary—some games may run better on Linux, but it really depends on the titles and your setup.

Switching to Linux is a personal choice! It’s great for those who appreciate control and community-driven development. For gaming, any distro can work, but if you're really into gaming, check out those with built-in support for graphics drivers. Remember, not all games will run perfectly—especially with anti-cheat features. And while you can theoretically play pirated games, I’d recommend supporting developers instead!

For those looking for a gaming experience, Linux has definitely improved, with many Steam games now working well. Check ProtonDB to see if your titles are compatible. As for running .exe files, you can use Wine, but don't expect everything to work perfectly, especially complex programs. Your current laptop specs will see some improvement for general tasks, but can be hit or miss for gaming performance depending on the game.

Thanks for the advice! I appreciate it!

Honestly, Linux is a great option if you want to avoid the restrictions of Windows. In terms of distros, Mint or a gaming-optimized one like Bazzite can work well. You can play pirated games, but that’s a slippery slope ethically. The performance increase can happen, especially on an SSD. If you copy game files rather than reinstalling, it might not work due to missing components. Better to reinstall but save your save files!
