I'm trying to choose between the Corsair RMx and RMe for an 850W power supply unit (PSU). I noticed that the RMe is rated higher on some tier lists, but the RMx is more expensive. Is there a solid reason to pick the RMe, especially since it's newer and compatible with ATX 3.0?

I can't speak much about the tier lists, but I've always found the RMx to outperform the RMe. It comes with a longer warranty and superior cooling along with better capacitors, so it's typically worth the extra cash.
I'm curious, why aren't brands like Seasonic and Superflower getting more recognition? They're both A-tier PSU makers and usually priced lower because their marketing budget is smaller.
Superflower is a fantastic choice! I've been using a 1000W unit since 2017 without any issues. I also have an RMx 650W that’s been reliable. Between Corsair, Superflower, and Seasonic, you can’t go wrong with their flagship models.
Both the RMx and RMe have ATX 3.0/3.1 versions available. However, the RMx is generally considered a cut above the RMe; for instance, one tier list I checked ranks the RMx as A+ while the RMe is more around B+/A. Both should work well as long as you choose the right model and wattage for your needs.
A good way to compare these models is through the Cybenetics PSU Database. Depending on your region's voltage (115V or 230V) or if you prefer ATX 3.0 or 3.1, check out their test reports. For example, the Corsair RM850x ATX 3.1 is more efficient and quieter than the RM850e ATX 3.1.
Great, thank you!
