Could a new game have compromised my PC? What should I do?

Hey everyone! So, I recently started playing CoD: WW2 after it dropped on Game Pass. I played for a few hours, but now I'm hearing some pretty alarming stuff on Twitter about potential RCE (remote code execution) exploits linked to the game. Thankfully, I haven't noticed anything strange on my PC so far, but I'm really worried about the possibility of malicious code running in the background. As I'm at work stressing about this, what's the best way to ensure my PC is secure? Should I disconnect from the internet and try to scan through my files? There are so many files, so I'm not even sure where to start! Any advice would be appreciated!

If you were just playing the game without any mods or custom maps, it’s unlikely you were affected by an RCE. Most of the discussions I’ve seen refer back to vulnerabilities from 2021. If you have a source talking about a current RCE issue, I'd love to see it! Just playing the game on Game Pass shouldn't infect your computer.

Yeah, I get that! It seems like a big topic on CoD Twitter right now. Maybe I’m just overthinking it.
