Could My Laptop Screen Cable Be Faulty?

Hey everyone! I recently purchased a replacement screen cable for my Dell laptop after the original one was damaged due to pressure from the hinge. The new cable seemed alright at first glance, but when I looked at it more closely, it appeared that the metallic portion isn't properly attached to the black tape covering it (if anyone knows what that tape is called, I'd appreciate it!). I have a couple of questions: 1. Do you think the cable is faulty? I've attached some pictures in the comments for reference. 2. Given that this replacement is pretty cheap and not an original part, could that create issues? 3. If I have a technician replace the cable, should I back up my data beforehand?

From what I can see in the pics, it looks a bit detached from the back side compared to the front. You might want to carefully peel back the tape and check if the wires are still connected. A technician will definitely be able to tell you if it’s safe to use or not!

Thanks for the quick response! Is it safe to peel back the tape? I'm a little worried about damaging it. Also, will the tech need to take out the hard disk during the process? Do I need to back up my data?
