I recently had a major issue with my PC when it blue screened during gameplay. After checking the temperatures, I discovered that my CPU was running at a staggering 105 degrees Celsius. In an attempt to clean my cooler and heat sink, I accidentally removed the CPU along with the cooler, and now they're stuck together. I've tried various methods to separate them but haven't had any luck. Now, I'm considering buying a new CPU and I'm concerned that I may have damaged my motherboard during this process. While the CPU looks fine—no bent or missing pins—is it possible for the motherboard to be damaged? If I install a new CPU into a potentially damaged socket, could that ruin the new CPU? I'm not very experienced with this kind of stuff, so any advice would be appreciated!

If the CPU pins are all intact, your motherboard is likely fine too. When you tried to remove the cooler, did you use any special techniques? A lot of folks have had success gently prying them apart with a screwdriver.
I actually tried using a hairdryer to heat it up a bit before prying. It turns out the thermal paste was super old and had formed a strong bond over the years—definitely a learning experience!
