Could My Phone’s Battery Issues Mean It’s Hacked?

Hey everyone! I have an OPPO A79 5G, and I've recently noticed some strange battery behavior. My phone used to last around 7 hours, but today, it's draining way quicker than usual. After charging it, I took it off when it was at 33%, and within just a few minutes, it dropped to 27% and then to 25%. When I restarted it, it somehow reported only 1% left! I'm also paranoid about cybersecurity and have fears of being hacked. Is this a sign of a hack? Any advice on how to resolve this? By the way, I've also noticed some of my home screen widgets disappearing—only the clock and Google search ones were there!

It sounds like a battery issue to me. Even relatively new batteries can fail; sometimes you just get unlucky with hardware. It's more common than you'd think!

Thanks for the input! It feels strange since the battery was fine just yesterday, but I guess it can happen.

Your phone could just have a battery calibration issue, which can cause those weird percentage drops. It's possible it showed 1% after a restart because the battery needs recalibrating.

I doubt it's a hack. Most modern malware needs a download to mess with your phone, like a fishy app. If you've been careful, you should be fine!

Thanks for calling my fears! I've downloaded a few APK games before, but they've never caused problems. Maybe it really is just the battery.
