Hey everyone,
I have a suspicion that someone might have accessed my laptop while I was asleep during a recent business trip. I found some references online about checking the Activity Log and discovered some entries that seem weird to me. (Here's a link: https://i.imgur.com/sXrjtTN.png.) The thing is, I was about 60 kilometers away from my laptop, and I was definitely asleep at the time. There was someone at home who knows the password, though.
Does this entry in the log definitively mean someone logged into my laptop? Just for context, I'm using Windows 11 and only have a local account—not tied to a Microsoft account.

From what you've shared, it definitely sounds like someone logged into your laptop. Just an assumption, but maybe it was your wife checking out your secret 'bills' folder, right? Just kidding! But seriously, if you were that far away, it's suspicious for sure.
Why did you suspect this in the first place? If your laptop was off while you were away, the Event Viewer should show when it was turned on and off. If it was on, then it’s definitely worth looking into those logs more closely.
It's hard to tell for sure without digging deeper into those logs. Sometimes Windows doesn't differentiate between user logins and system processes accessing the laptop. You might see a lot of activity just from background tasks, so I'd recommend expanding those logs further to be certain.
Yeah, I found out there are loads of system-related login events that can be pretty misleading.
It was off, actually. I’m still trying to figure out how to use the Event Viewer properly.
