CPU Overheating When Gaming—Should I Upgrade the Cooler or Get More Fans?

I've been noticing my CPU temperatures consistently hitting above 95°C when I'm gaming. I'm currently using the stock cooler on my i7 12700 and have a GTX 3050 paired with it. I have an intake fan located at the front bottom and an exhaust fan at the rear. What do you folks recommend? Should I invest in three additional case fans or go for a better air cooler?

You're likely not getting enough airflow with just one intake and one exhaust fan. I suggest getting a good aftermarket cooler and possibly repositioning that intake fan to the front or even the top for better circulation.

It sounds like you definitely need a better CPU cooler. The stock coolers just don’t cut it, especially for an i7 like yours. A nice aftermarket model would be a solid investment. Plus, you might want to consider adding more case fans to improve airflow.

Check out the Thermalright Phantom Spirit! It's super affordable and provides excellent cooling performance.

A better air cooler is a must! The stock cooler usually isn't sufficient, especially under gaming loads. Also, make sure the thermal paste is applied correctly; it could be a contributing factor to your heating problems.

Absolutely, ensuring the thermal paste is applied properly can significantly help with heat management!
