I've been struggling with my CPU temperature readings for about six months now. Both the BIOS and HWMonitor show that my CPU temps are stuck at 100°C. The strange thing is, my system seems to run just fine. I can play games for hours without any performance issues, and I can watch movies without a hitch. However, because the motherboard thinks the CPU is overheating, the fans run at maximum speed, making it louder than my PS4. Does anyone know what could be causing this issue or how I can fix it? Thanks in advance!

It’s worth checking if your BIOS is set to default settings. If you can’t use an external thermal sensor, monitor using HWINFO closely. If it shows constant 98-100°C readings, then it's likely a hardware issue. If you’ve got an ASRock H310CM DVS, it may not be capable of supporting external sensors, so you might be limited in options. Keep an eye on it and see if there are any inconsistent spikes when gaming or under load.
It sounds like your CPU temperature sensor might be failing, especially if your CPU is running fine otherwise. You could try checking HWINFO for detailed readings. Look at both the CPU and CPU package temperatures. If both are high, you might have a cooling issue or a faulty CPU. Some motherboards, especially higher-end models, have ports for external thermal sensors. If yours doesn’t support that, consider using a thermal camera or IR sensor to get a more accurate reading.
