I've noticed that my laptop, which has a 500GB hard drive, is running low on space, with only about 20% free. I recently used WizTree on my Windows 11 system and found that the "System Volume Information" folder is taking up around 10GB. Additionally, my hiberfil.sys and pagefil.sys files are using up another 20GB in total, which I assume is normal. Does anyone have suggestions on whether I can reduce or delete anything in the System Volume Information folder, or if it's necessary to keep it? Thanks in advance!

Haha, I get you on the gaming space issue, but I'm actually just using this laptop for work as a geophysicist. I'm just looking for ways to better manage my storage without losing important data.
You can actually free up some space by disabling hibernate if you're not using it, which could save you around 20GB. To manage the System Volume Information, consider using Disk Cleanup to delete old system restore points. Just a heads-up, don’t manually mess with anything in that folder since it's protected for good reason. Running Disk Cleanup and selecting "clean up system files" should help you reclaim some space safely.
Definitely stick with the Disk Cleanup tool for this. It’s the safest bet to get some space back without the risk of messing anything up. Just so you know, it can be easy to fill up disk space with things like games or large files you might have forgotten about!
