Did I buy the wrong M.2 SSD for my setup?

I'm trying to install a WD Black SN850X NVMe SSD Gen 4 into the main M.2 slot of my ASRock B550M PRO4 motherboard, but I'm running into some issues. The SSD shows up in Device Manager, but not in Disk Management, which is frustrating. I've already updated the BIOS and played around in the command prompts looking for the drive. I also have three SATA drives connected, one of which has the OS. Once I can get the M.2 to show up, I plan to clone my OS onto it. Can I use both SATA drives and the M.2 together, or did I accidentally get the wrong SSD?

Your motherboard has a note that M2_2 and SATA3_5_6 share lanes, meaning if one is in use, the other will be disabled. So, make sure you're not using those specific SATA ports when you're trying to install the M.2 SSD.

Yeah, formatting is crucial! Once you initialize and format it in Disk Management, it should show up properly. Just remember, until you do that, it won't be usable.

Have you initialized the M.2 drive in Disk Management and assigned it a letter? This can explain why it appears in Device Manager but not in Disk Management. You usually have to format it there first before it shows up.
