Hey everyone! I just put together a new PC with the specs below, but I recently discovered that my motherboard might be a bit outdated. I'm wondering if it will still work well with the rest of my setup, or if I should think about replacing it soon. Here are my specs:

- **Processor:** AMD Ryzen 9 9900X (12x 4.4GHz / 5.6GHz Turbo)
- **Thermal Paste:** Thermal Grizzly
- **CPU Cooler:** Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro 360mm A-RGB (Black)
- **Motherboard:** MSI PRO B650-S WIFI
- **RAM:** 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 6000MHz Kingston Fury Beast CL30
- **SSD (M.2):** 2TB Kingston NV3 PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe (Read: 6000MB/s, Write: 5000MB/s)
- **Graphics Card:** 16GB NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti (Brand may vary)
- **Power Supply:** 750W MSI MAG A750GL 80+ Gold ATX 3.0 – PCIe 5

Thanks for any advice!

From what I know, the B650 and B850 chipsets are quite similar. The main difference is that B850 guarantees PCIe 5.0, but many B650 boards come with that too. So, if your setup works with it, you're good!

Not all B850s have PCIe x16 Gen 5; it depends on the specific board.

Does your computer turn on and function well? If so, you're in good shape!

It does work, but I just worry about future upgrades or overclocking options.

I think you got it on sale for around $140, right? For that price, it's a solid choice. Personally, I prefer ASRock boards, but for your needs, this should do the trick!

Exactly!

As long as your motherboard runs the CPU and has all the necessary ports for your peripherals, it should be fine!

Yes, everything can be plugged in and the CPU runs just fine. Thanks for the quick response!
