I recently bought an ASUS The SFF-Ready Prime GeForce RTX 5080 OC Edition 16GB GDDR7 Graphics Card from Amazon and have some concerns. When I opened the box, I noticed it only has a single 8-pin PCIE power slot, while I expected it to have a 12-pin VHPWR slot typically found on RTX 5080s. I'm worried that I might have received a lower model GPU, even though everything in the package claims it's a 5080. Can anyone help me verify if this is legit, and if it is, what cables should I use to avoid any damage?

All signs point to a scam, sadly. If you can, plug it into a system and run GPU-Z to check what card it actually is. Just be careful not to power it before you confirm!
That GPU you received is definitely not a 5080. It looks more like a 5060 or a 5060 Ti with a 5080 sticker slapped on it. The fact that it has an 8-pin connector instead of a 12-pin is a clear sign of a scam. You should return it immediately!
You're likely dealing with a scam here. As others pointed out, real 5080s should have a 12-pin connector. Also, check the quality of the label on the card. If it looks off or poorly applied, that's another red flag. Return it if you can!
Totally agree! You deserve the right product, and it sounds like someone swapped it out before sending it back to Amazon.
I noticed the same thing. A genuine 5080 card would never only use an 8-pin connector. It’s a shame this happens often. Make sure you file for a refund—Amazon is pretty good about handling returns in situations like this.
Exactly! Take lots of photos and document everything. If this is a recurring problem, you might want to escalate it to customer service.
It seems like a scam for sure! Return it to Amazon ASAP. They have good policies for returns if it was sold and shipped by them. And be careful next time about where you buy high-end components!
Definitely a red flag! I once got a similar issue with a GPU from Amazon. Just document everything and they should help you out.

Yeah, and don't hesitate; Amazon should make it easy to get your money back since it looks like you were sold a fake.
