Hey everyone! I've had my PC since 2020 and decided it was time for an upgrade. Since GPU prices are crazy right now, I chose to upgrade almost everything except my GPU. I switched from a Ryzen 7 3700X to a Ryzen 7 7700 for just 145 euros, which felt like a steal! I also got a new B650 motherboard for 130 euros due to the different chipset. My old cooler was making strange noises, so I replaced it with a Thermalright 360 AIO for 80 euros. I'm currently waiting for some reasonably priced 32GB DDR5 RAM to complete the upgrade. My GPU, an old RTX 2070 Super, will stay for now as I hope the market will improve soon. What do you all think? Was this a smart decision?

I was in a similar situation and kept my 2070 Super too. After upgrading, I noticed a big improvement in games at 1440p, but for demanding titles, a new GPU would definitely help to maintain those 70+ FPS. So, while your upgrade is good, if you plan on playing newer games, consider saving up for a new GPU soon.
Sounds like a solid plan! You've set yourself up for easy upgrades with the AM5 platform. While you might have to wait a while for decent RAM prices, it seems like GPU prices are starting to drop, so you're not in a bad spot. Just keep an eye on the market!
Your choice seems fine! The GPU market has fluctuated, but it’s not as dire as during COVID. If you can hold off a bit, I would suggest waiting. RAM shortages could affect GPU pricing soon, so it might be worth it to see how things shake out over the next few months.
Totally agree! I grabbed my 2070 Super before the price spike, so I feel your pain. It's rough out there!

Right? Prices are all over the place! I’m monitoring deals too, but like you, I’m not a fan of overpaying, especially when I can wait and enjoy the upgrades in the meantime.
