Did I ruin my CPU by installing it the wrong way?

I accidentally inserted my Intel 14700K CPU upside down into my MSI B760 motherboard. I didn't push down hard enough to fully close it, but I did press down a couple of times before realizing my mistake. I'm worried I might have damaged it, but I can't test the system right now since I don't have any RAM sticks available. Here's a link to the image showing how it looks: https://imgur.com/a/BNkmVvh

From what I can see, it looks like there are no bent pins, so you should be okay! As long as you didn't force it down and damage anything, you likely haven't harmed your CPU at all.

Typically, putting a CPU in the wrong way won’t cause damage unless you're forcing it down hard enough to bend the pins. Just be cautious next time!

It’s hard to tell from the pictures, but if you didn’t see any bent pins, you probably didn’t do any damage. Just make sure to check it closely before you install it again.
