Do Bootcamps and Certifications Matter to Recruiters in Europe?

I'm thinking about enrolling in a DevOps course that promises to elevate me from a junior level to a mid-level position. The program involves working on a pet project with fellow juniors, and it includes certification and mentorship to help secure a job once I'm done. My question is, do these certificates really hold any value for recruiters in Europe, or am I just wasting my money and time? I'm at the early stages of my career with limited commercial experience.

There really isn’t a rush to go from junior to mid-level through a bootcamp. If it were that easy, we wouldn't need to talk about experience at all. Bootcamps are designed to get you started, usually at a junior level.

After reviewing candidates for positions, I noticed that recognized certifications, especially for Kubernetes or major cloud platforms, impress more than a bootcamp certificate. Unless the company works primarily on-site, those credentials can make a difference.

Getting certified with CKA, CKAD, or CKS can be great, but even those aren't always the golden ticket. It's just a part of the puzzle, and you might still need more experience to stand out.

The learning process could be beneficial, but the actual certificate might not carry much weight. It's all about the skills you can demonstrate rather than just having a piece of paper.
