Hey folks! I've been coding for fun for quite a while now, but I'm reaching the point where I need to think about landing a job. I'm curious about whether using coding challenge sites like LeetCode or Project Euler is considered important by employers in Europe, or if they mainly value these platforms in the US market.

From what I've seen, those coding challenge sites don't carry much weight with European employers. But if you enjoy solving problems on them, go for it! They can help you pick up various programming techniques that will be useful down the line.

Honestly, it barely matters. In my experience with technical interviews, we often overlook sites like LeetCode. What really counts are your completed projects, whether for clients or personal work.

Nope, those sites don't really teach the practical skills you need for most jobs. Focus your time on ongoing projects that you can showcase instead.

In Scandinavia, I've never heard anyone mention those sites during interviews. Most employers seem to favor a strong CV over testing your skills with coding challenges. The lengthy interview processes with multiple rounds of technical problems are pretty rare here.

I’m from the UK and if someone mentioned doing coding challenges during an interview, I'd just think, ‘Okay, that's nice?’ It seems more of a hobby to me. I'd rather see proof of actual projects instead of just a bunch of solved challenges.
