Do I Need 6 Cables for My 5070 Ti and MSI 870E Tomahawk Build?

I'm upgrading my system to include a 5070 Ti and a 9800X3D, using the MSI 870E Tomahawk motherboard. From what I've read, the 5070 Ti requires three dedicated PCIe cables from the power supply. However, I noticed that my motherboard has two 8-pin CPU connectors at the top and one 8-pin PCIe connector at the bottom. Does this mean I need a power supply with six separate CPU and PCIe cables? That seems excessive, so I'm wondering if I'm missing something here.

You can actually ignore that bottom 8-pin connector on the motherboard. Most modern power supplies come with a dedicated cable for the GPU, which is a 12v-2x6 connector on both ends. The threePCIe cable setup is typically just for older power supplies. For a solid choice, check out the Montech Century II 850W; it has everything you need!

That's a great choice! I have the 1200W version with a 9900X3D and 4090, and it really helps with cable management while running quietly. Plus, its form factor is way more compact than my old 1600W super flower.
