Hey everyone! I'm building my first PC and used a PSU wattage calculator which suggested I'd need between 500 to 599 watts. I'm considering whether I should go with a 550W power supply or stretch to 650W. My setup includes an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X, a MAG B550 Tomahawk Wifi motherboard, and an Asus GeForce RTX 2070. I'd appreciate any advice you can share!

Since you're building from scratch, consider getting a 750W or even an 850W PSU. It's not a huge price difference, and having that extra capacity means you won't have to replace it later when you upgrade your GPU or CPU.
Always opt for the highest wattage you can afford! At least 650W is a good minimum, but if budget allows, aim for around 800W to future-proof your build better.
A 550W PSU should be sufficient for your current setup, but if you're thinking about upgrading your GPU in the future, I'd recommend going for a 650W unit instead for some extra headroom.
Honestly, if you can swing it, go for a 650W gold-rated PSU. It gives you more room for future upgrades and will run more efficiently.
I ran a similar setup on a 500W PSU without any issues, so you can be okay with 550W. But since you're purchasing new, it's wise to choose 650W now for any potential future upgrades.
