Do I need a native 12v6*2 plug for my power supply?

Hey everyone! I'm a bit out of the loop when it comes to building PCs, and I'm stuck on a question about power supplies. I've heard that graphics cards from the 5090 series and newer require a native 12v6*2 plug on the power supply. The power supply I'm considering is the Superflower LEADEX VII Platinum PRO 1200W, but it doesn't have that specific plug. Instead, it has a modular type setup. I found it at a great price, but I want to be sure: do I really need that native plug, or will the universal setup work fine? Has anyone used this particular power supply before? Thanks for any help! It's been 8 years since my last build!

Your power supply actually uses a universal 2x8 pin cable that can connect to a 12v-2x6. From what we know so far, it works just as well as a direct 12v6*2 cable, and some might argue even better due to stronger connections on the power supply side. So overall, you should be fine!

So it’s basically equivalent but maybe a bit stronger? That’s good to know! I’m planning to upgrade to a 5080 super or 6080 card next year, so I hope this setup holds up. Thanks!
