I'm upgrading my PC and have just picked up a 5090 GPU. I want to test it out with my current setup while I wait for the remaining parts for my upgrade. Right now, I'm using the adapter it came with, connecting four PCIe cables to the card, and it's a bit cramped. My PSU is a Corsair HX1200 (1200W). I'm curious if I need to replace it or if I can just buy new cables to make things better. I'd love to use a single 90-degree cable for the 5090, so I'm considering two options: one from Corsair and another from Cablemod. Would either of these work, or should I upgrade to a newer ATX 3.1 PSU instead?

There are replacement cables available for your PSU that plug directly into both the PSU and GPU. Check them out on Amazon: one is a ModMesh variant, and I think you'll find them quite easy to install.
If Corsair or CableMod says their cables are compatible, that should be good enough for you. Your current PSU is solid, and you definitely don’t need to replace it just for the 5090, especially since it's a top-tier 1200W unit.
I hear you, but it seems like neither of those cables confirm compatibility with your PSU directly. Maybe check the specifics again?

Thanks for the tip! I'm going to go ahead and order the first one since it matches my CableMod set.
