Do I need a new PSU for my GPU upgrade?

I'm currently running a Ryzen 5 7600x with an RTX 2060, and I'm looking to upgrade to a Radeon 7700 XT. I'm trying to find out if my existing 650W power supply will handle this upgrade since I'm on a tight budget. I've checked a couple of PSU calculators: one says I'd be using between 600-699W with the new GPU, while another suggests only 460W. I'm really unsure which one to believe and if I need to get a new power supply.

As for recommendations, Asus suggests a minimum of 650W for a Ryzen 5 and 7700 XT. You’re fine for now, but if you plan future upgrades like a 9070 XT, considering a 750W PSU then would be a wise move.

The power draw with your setup will be under 350W. Your 650W PSU is definitely more than enough for your new GPU and CPU combination.

You shouldn't worry about wattage; your 650W PSU is plenty for that GPU. Just make sure you're set on the connectors.

Wattage-wise, you're in a good place. The quality of the PSU matters too—your system likely won't draw more than 500W under load. I checked, and your PSU is an 80 Plus Gold, so it should be solid.

It’s worth considering how many power connectors your new GPU needs. If it has two 8-pin connectors, make sure your PSU has those available without needing any jumpers.
