Hello everyone! I've just completed my dream PC build after 30 years and couldn't be more excited. I live in an area with frequent power cuts and voltage fluctuations, which has me wondering if a surge protector will be sufficient, or if I should definitely invest in a UPS. I want to make sure my high-end setup is well protected. Here's what I've built: it features a Ryzen 7 9800X3D along with an ASUS TUF RTX 5090 and other awesome components. Given my concerns about power outages, I'd love your insights on whether a high-quality surge protector is good enough, or if I should absolutely go for a UPS. If a UPS is advisable, I'd appreciate advice on the wattage I should aim for and any trusted brands to consider. Thanks in advance for your help!

For sure, grab a UPS if your power situation is unreliable. You want to protect your high-end components from brownouts, which can cause real damage. A 1500 VA unit should do the trick nicely, especially for your setup. You won’t regret having that extra layer of protection!
Congrats on finally building your dream rig! I’d definitely recommend getting a UPS, especially since you deal with power fluctuations. It’s a small price to pay for peace of mind. Many people regret not investing in a UPS after power spikes damage their systems. A good one with pure sine wave output will protect your PC for years. It’s a smart move!
Absolutely go for a UPS! Brownouts can be really harmful. As for brands, I’d steer clear of Corsair for RAM; I prefer Klevv, G.Skill, or Teamgroup instead. For PSUs, stick with manufacturers like Seasonic or Super Flower. Look for reviews and ratings beyond just the brand to ensure you're getting a solid PSU. Some gold-rated units can even compete with platinum specs!
That’s a great point! I also found a PSU tier list that can help a lot when choosing the right unit.

Totally agree! Just think of it as insurance for your investment.
