I'm currently building a PC and trying to decide if I should invest in an SSD that includes DRAM. I know that for gaming, DRAM isn't really necessary, but I'm wondering if it's important for CAD and programming work. What do you all think?

I definitely think investing in an SSD with DRAM is worth it, especially for CAD and programming tasks. It helps with faster data access and can improve performance when you're working with large files or multitasking.
It really depends on the specific SSD model. Some DRAMless NVMEs are surprisingly fast, so do your research. Focus on getting TLC NAND, making sure it's Gen 4, and choose a reliable brand. In the end, it's often about the quality of the controller and firmware.
If you can fit a DRAM SSD into your budget, go for it! But if costs are tight, you can still manage without it. Just consider getting an SSD with TLC NAND instead of QLC for better performance overall. Also, if this SSD is your main drive, DRAM will give you a nice performance boost.
