Do I need to connect the SATA/PATA port on my power supply?

I'm a bit confused about the connections for my new build. I've been watching tutorials where everyone connects the SATA/PATA port to their SSDs, but I have a small M.2 SSD that plugs directly into the motherboard. Do I need to connect the SATA power at all? Also, for anyone who has used the Corsair 3500X case—do we only need to connect the top wires if we want to daisy chain additional fans? Here's my build:

- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 9600X
- Motherboard: ASUS B650E MAX Gaming WiFi W (AM5)
- GPU: Sapphire Pure RX 9060 XT 16GB
- RAM: 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 (Kingston Fury RGB)
- Storage: Kingston NV3 1TB NVMe (PCIe 4.0)
- Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE ARGB
- PSU: Corsair RM750e (2025) 750W
- Case: Corsair 3500X ARGB White (3 fans)

You don't actually need to connect the SATA/PATA cables because your M.2 SSD draws power directly from the motherboard. It’s all set! As for the case fans, you only need to hook up those top wires if you're planning to connect more fans together. Otherwise, you're good to go!

Exactly! The M.2 SSD is designed for a more streamlined connection without needing those extra cables. About the fan setup, the top wires are for daisy chaining additional fans; if you stick to the three already included, you can leave them unconnected!

Thanks for confirming! I just wanted to be sure before powering everything up.
