I'm currently using Linux Mint and I want to make sure my system is secure. I tried installing McAfee antivirus through bottles, but I'm not totally convinced that it has the necessary root access to provide adequate protection. Can anyone advise me on this?

C'mon, no need for McAfee on Linux. Just enjoy the built-in security features of your OS. You’ll save time and hassle without it!
You really don't need McAfee on Linux. Linux is generally pretty secure as it is, so an antivirus isn't necessary right now. Unless there’s a huge surge in Linux malware, you should be fine without it!
Totally! Just focus on keeping your system updated, and you should be good.
Honestly, installing McAfee on Linux is a bit overkill. You might want to look into just using some basic security practices instead. Like, make sure you're updating your software regularly and using strong passwords instead of relying on antivirus.
Yeah, I agree! Linux tends to have a smaller target on its back when it comes to viruses.
