I'm in the process of building a new PC, and I've run into a bit of confusion regarding the power setup for my graphics card, the MSI GTX 5070 ti. My card came with a PCIe splitter for connecting it to the power supply, but my PSU only provides two-headed 6+2 pin PCIe cables. I'm unsure if it's fine to use just one of the heads and leave the other one empty. Can anyone clarify whether this setup will work?

As long as your power supply's cable is the proprietary one designed for it, you should be good! The GTX 5070 ti requires about 300W, and the 6+2 PCIe can deliver up to 150W each, so you'll need both plugged in. You can definitely use just one of the 6+2 heads if you're okay with that, but it's safer to run two cables if you're worried.
You could definitely use two separate cables with the splitter, leaving one of them unused. Just make sure the connections are secure, and you should have no problems at all!
I see, that's kind of what I was wondering—just wanting to ensure leaving one empty wouldn’t cause issues.
