I just got a T-Force G50 M.2 SSD, and it came with a separate tin sticker on a plastic backing. I'm assuming I'm meant to apply it myself? Is it really necessary to use it? My motherboard has a cover that doubles as a heat sink for the SSD, so should I just leave the sticker off?

Wait, isn't the sticker supposed to be something you can stick on your PC or wall? But really, SSDs can get hot enough that it's best to keep any cooling feature it has, including the sticker. Just be careful as they can potentially melt if they get too hot!
Yeah, I’d say leave it off. Since you have a motherboard cover that's acting as a heat sink, the sticker isn't really needed. Just stick with what you have for cooling.
Just check if removing it voids your warranty. If it says so, it's best to keep it on.
The sticker actually acts like a small heat sink, so keeping it on can help if your SSD gets hot during use. Just ensure it fits well with your motherboard's setup.
Actually, those metallic stickers can help with cooling! They’re similar to heat spreaders, so it might be a good idea to stick it on. It seems odd, but they do serve a purpose.
The sticker is usually supposed to be attached to the SSD from the get-go. If it fell off, it's generally not a good idea to remove it because many are designed to function as heat spreaders.
Yeah, the sticker does have minor heat sink capabilities, so it’s quite functional even if it seems like just a decoration.
