I'm considering buying the ID Cooling DK-19 cooler for my computer, which has a back plate that seems to require installation on the motherboard. I have an LGA 1700 socket motherboard, but I'm worried that I might have to take the motherboard out of the case to install it. Has anyone here done this before? Would I really need to remove the motherboard, or can it be done without taking it out? I tried to reach out to the brand for clarification, but they haven't replied yet.

It really hinges on what case you've got. If you share the model, we might be able to help more. Otherwise, just check the setup by removing the side panels and see what access you’ve got!
Before doing anything, check your case. If there’s no back access, then yeah, you're likely going to have to pull out the motherboard. Just make sure you have everything unplugged and ready for some maneuvering!
Great advice! Taking the motherboard out can be a pain, but sometimes it's necessary.
It really depends on your case design. Many cases allow you to install the backplate through a cutout behind the CPU area, so you might not need to remove the motherboard at all. But if yours doesn't have that feature, it could be easier to just take it out. Just pay attention to how much room you have, and it might save you some hassle!
Yeah, if you can access the back, definitely check that out! It could save you a lot of work.
Absolutely, it varies based on your case. If you can take off the side panels and see if there’s that cutout, that’s the best way! Otherwise, you might need to pull out the motherboard to install it properly. Let us know what case you have, and we might have more specific advice.
Good tip! Some cases are really tricky. But yeah, knowing the case model can help narrow it down.

Yeah, knowing the model helps tons! Some cases have better layouts than others.
