I'm in the process of upgrading the power supply in my pre-built PC and I'm a bit concerned about cable management. The setup is really neat, and I would prefer not to disturb it too much. The cables from the power supply connect to adapters that then lead to the motherboard. My question is: should I replace all the cables along this chain, or will it be fine if I only swap out the cables directly from the power supply while leaving the adapters in place? I know the cable for the graphics card is direct, but the ones for the fans and CPU go through these adapters. Also, I'm thinking of sharing some photos for clarity.

The answer really depends on what those "adapters" do. If you can, post some pictures on Imgur and share them here so we can see what's going on!
You only need to replace the cables that come directly from the power supply. Anything that's an extension cable or any fan hubs can stay as they are, so you should be good to just swap out those direct connections!
That would be awesome! I’ll still share some photos just to confirm everything looks right.
Just a heads up, don’t mix and match modular power supply cables! I made that mistake before and ended up frying my hard drive. It's not worth the risk!
Yeah, I plan to replace the ones connecting to the power supply because I heard the same. I wasn’t quite sure about the adapters or extenders though.
Sure, I’m on it! Just need a moment to take those pics.
