I'm planning to upgrade from an Nvidia 4080 Super to a 5090 and I'm curious if there's anything I should do before installing the new graphics card. I've seen a lot of videos and posts about using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller), but most of them seem pretty old—like from six years ago. Is using DDU still necessary for this kind of upgrade, or can I just uninstall the old GPU from Device Manager and plug in the new one?

Honestly, it only takes a couple of minutes and it’s totally worth it. Trust me, watching a video on DDU will take less time than any issues you'll face later on. Just download it and follow the steps!
In your case, since you're upgrading within the Nvidia family, DDU isn't strictly necessary, but it's still a good practice to do it. Better safe than sorry! It can help avoid potential conflicts.
If you’re moving from one Nvidia card to another, you should be fine without DDU. I recently did a similar upgrade and didn’t run into any issues. But if you were switching brands—like from AMD to Nvidia—I’d definitely recommend using DDU.
Thanks for the tips everyone! I did a bit of research and it seems like using DDU is a good idea. I'm just trying to avoid any display issues down the line.
