I'm planning to upgrade from my 7700K + GTX 1080 to a Ryzen 9800 X3D and I have some leftover RAM from an old build. It's a Corsair Vengeance kit rated at 5600MT/s CL40, and I was wondering if there are any compatibility or performance issues I should be aware of. I'm keen to know if it's a decent choice since I'll be using this RAM for now, but I'm curious about any potential impacts on performance, especially since I plan on running Linux. Is it going to run smoothly or should I hold off for better RAM?

Considering the crazy RAM prices these days, you might as well use what you have. Dual channel memory will definitely be superior to single channel, but your current setup should work just fine for now. Just keep in mind that while it's not the latest and greatest, it’s still better than what you were using before!

Exactly! I got lucky that the last build I made wouldn't boot with all slots filled, so I'm set with these 2x32GB sticks in dual channel. Should be a solid setup!
