Do Photos Automatically Delete After Being Removed from a Samsung Phone?

I had a conversation with someone on Snapchat and sent them a picture of my face. At the end of our chat, he took a screenshot, but later claimed that he deleted it. He mentioned that Samsung phones automatically clear deleted photos from the device. I find that hard to believe and am worried about whether or not he actually kept the image. Can someone clarify if Samsung really does this?

Honestly, I would not worry too much about it. The claim that deleted photos vanish automatically isn’t really accurate. Even if he deleted the screenshot, there's a good chance he still has access to the image if he saved it. And regarding the selfies, you might be overthinking it a bit. While it's valid to be cautious, unless there's something particularly compromising, it's not likely he could use them in a harmful way.

From what I've seen, deleting a photo on a Samsung phone usually moves it to the trash rather than removing it completely. So unless he did a final delete, that image might still be retrievable. Plus, he could have saved the image in some other way without triggering a screenshot notification, so it’s wise to be careful with pictures. As for the selfies you sent, it's natural to be worried, but unless there's sensitive content, there isn't much he can do.

It really depends on the settings of the phone. Some users set their trash or recycle bin to automatically delete anything they remove, while others keep things for a while before they're permanently gone. Just keep in mind that anything shared digitally can be saved, so always be cautious about sending personal photos to someone you don't fully trust. If he saved it rather than screenshotting it, it might not even show up in his deleted items. But honestly, if it's just selfies, he probably can't do much with them unless you have other personal info on your profiles.
