I recently installed Docker Desktop on my Windows 11 machine, but it has been stuck for quite a while displaying "Starting the Docker Engine." Does anyone know what could be causing this issue?

Honestly, I've thought about going the VM route instead. If you're considering that, I'd recommend using Ubuntu. It's user-friendly and works well with Docker. Have you looked into it?
It sounds like a frustrating situation! Docker Desktop for Windows uses virtual disk files to store container images and volumes, and it might be taking a while if you're low on disk space. Check if your disk is performing well, as this could also slow things down. Sometimes, it also has to install a WSL distro if you didn't have one set up already. If it hangs for too long, I've had to uninstall and reinstall after updates to get it working again.
Just a heads-up, if you downloaded Docker from an unofficial source, you might have inadvertently installed a virus. Double-check your task scheduler for any strange scripts running. It's safer to get Docker from the Microsoft store.
