Does letting my laptop battery die really corrupt Windows?

I recently let my laptop battery drain completely, and now it's stuck in an automatic repair loop. I got an error message: 0xc000014c after turning it off using recovery command. I'm planning to reinstall Windows with a bootable drive. Can anyone explain how this happened? Is there a way to avoid it in the future? Will it happen again?

When your laptop goes into sleep mode, it keeps most data in RAM, but if the battery drains too low, it will turn off completely. This sudden shutdown can lead to data corruption, which is likely what caused your problem.

It sounds like your laptop might have corrupted a system file when the power ran out. That sort of thing can happen if the laptop loses power unexpectedly during operation. It's a common issue, unfortunately.

Reinstalling Windows should help fix the issue! If you use a bootable drive for the reinstall, make sure to select the option that keeps your personal files, so you won’t lose anything important.
