I'm in the process of building a new PC since my old one was becoming outdated and I need something faster. Here's what I'm looking at:
- Ryzen 5 5500 (with a cooler from Amazon) for $85
- GIGABYTE B550M motherboard for $66
- Intel Arc A750 graphics card for $150
- Thermaltake Smart power supply for $40
- Some DDR4 RAM that I got from a friend for $40
- A case from an old PC (the Powerspec G411, which seems like it will fit)
I'm not a hardcore gamer, so I expect around 75-100 FPS, and I prioritize good visuals over high FPS. My monitor is 1080p, but I might upgrade it later. Also, I have $400 in Amazon gift cards, which is why I'm not looking at other selling platforms; the free shipping is a bonus!

You should consider replacing that Thermaltake Smart PSU since it’s rated F on the PSU Tier List. A decent power supply is crucial, so check out some alternatives. There's a Rosewill PSU for about $47 which looks like a solid option!
Yeah, I'd still recommend upgrading just to be safe. Better to invest in a good PSU now than deal with issues later!
Do you know what parts you had in your old PC? If you're upgrading from something strong, like a Dell Precision 5820 with an RX 570, $500 might not give you a *huge* upgrade right now. Just a heads up—an ultra settings 1080p setup might run you closer to $800.
My old rig was a Precision 5820 as well. I’d have to double-check, but I think the RX 570 should still hold its own. Might just be a modest upgrade.

I've had Thermaltake PSUs before, and they held up fine for me! It really depends on your luck, I guess.
