I've been dabbling in Linux for a couple of years now, but I still haven't fully committed to ditching Windows. I find it so comfortable! Currently, I'm using Linux on my general use laptop, but I still resort to RDP to my Windows machine whenever needed. I work on Raspberry Pi projects, homelabs, and other server tasks, and every time I dive into something new, I end up spending hours reading documentation and hunting for relevant forums. After setting up a couple of servers, I often feel burned out and don't touch anything for weeks. When I return to an old server, I realize I've forgotten everything and have to go back to square one with the documentation. I get that documentation is a constant, but does it ever get easier? Is there a way to go about this that would minimize how much I rely on documentation?

Yeah, it definitely gets easier over time! At first, it can feel overwhelming, but as you get more experience, you'll become more familiar with how things work and what to look for in the documentation. Stick with it!
Check out the resources page in the wiki; it's pretty useful! Also, taking regular backups and trying things out in a VM can really help you learn without the stress.
For sure, it should get easier! You might also want to use tools like LLMs to interpret things for you, which can help simplify complex concepts.
Have you tried using ChatGPT? It can be hit or miss, but it might speed up your learning process a bit!
I've given it a shot! It helps sometimes, but if I'm not already familiar with something, I'm right back in the documentation.
Totally agree! It can slow things down, especially when you need specific details buried in the documentation.
Good to hear! I really enjoy experimenting with Linux, but sometimes it feels like a chore.
